RockCrest Financial is an investment advisory firm that provides full-service financial planning and investment management. Located in New Jersey, and serving clients in Pennsylvania and a few other states, RockCrest helps clients with a variety of financial challenges, with a big impact on helping clients create financial independence throughout the different stages of retirement.

Founded by Steve Boorstein, a former affiliate of an independent broker dealer, RockCrest serves a growing client base and is looking to expand by adding additional advisors. Accordingly, RockCrest leverages technology to drive efficiencies and enhance the client service experience they provide to clients.

“Breaking away from my former broker-dealer necessitated a new technology strategy, which was a good thing,” said Boorstein. “Billing and performance reporting were the core components I needed and the fact that the independent technology industry was growing meant I had access to the best and latest technologies.”

Initially, Boorstein went with a performance platform that on the surface had the capabilities he needed, however, what he found was that it was difficult to get data out of it for reports and compliance requirements.

“The state of New Jersey sends out an exam to complete with various metrics, such as number of clients over 65, how much we have in funds, ETFs and individual securities and more,” said Boorstein. “Unfortunately, it was extremely difficult to get that information out of the previous system, so I knew it was time to find an alternative solution.”

That flexibility need led Boorstein to Panoramix. “With Panoramix, I pretty much was able to pull out any report I wanted, due to its fantastic blotter system,” Boorstein said. “That really was important when I went through my first ever remote exam from the state of Pennsylvania. I was asked for a number of reports and was able to get them quickly and easily in Panoramix, which also enabled me to save those report templates for future audits, an incredible time saver.”

Boorstein is also impressed with the total Panoramix package of capabilities. “Billing is easy and logical to complete, and the performance reporting flexibility is very helpful,” he notes. “While other systems provide lengthy performance reports, Panoramix is able to create a snapshot of the clients’ situation on one page, which clients really appreciate.” So much so, that Boorstein says clients access the Panoramix portal more than their custodian portal to find out information about their accounts.

Additionally, Boorstein appreciates the many integrations Panoramix has with his custodian TD Ameritrade as well as with Riskalyze. “The Risk Number is integrated into the performance reports, which is extremely helpful in working with clients to show that our reporting is aligned across the systems. Also, the flexibility I get with Panoramix provides me with the confidence that the platform can easily scale as I add new advisors, meaning we will not outgrow Panoramix.”

Boorstein is also impressed with the service from Panoramix. “They have great people and I know that they are constantly working to improve the system as it updates every month with new features and functionality. They take our feedback and are a very responsive team.”
